Dr. Cheruba Prabakar, MD OB/GYN | Founder and Medical Director
Dr. Cheruba Prabakar is a board certified OB/GYN and fellowship trained minimally invasive surgeon. After working in corporate medicine for eight years, she knew that there had to be a way for healthcare to be more personal—for both the patient and the physician. She founded Lamorinda Gynecology & Surgery in 2022 in pursuit of her vision of healthcare built upon patient-centered, unhurried, all-inclusive care. Known across social media as “@thefibroiddoc”, Dr. Prabakar is also the author of Fibroids: Finally Heard (2026), a practical guide that walks readers through their journey from diagnosis to recovery. Born in a small town in South India, Dr. Prabakar’s dedication to women’s healthcare was influenced by the hardships faced by female family and community members that she witnessed during her youth. A portion of all proceeds from Lamorinda Gynecology and Surgery are donated to fund the education and empowerment of young girls in South India.

Dr. Lee Christianson, MD FACOG DipABLM | Physician
Dr. Lee Christianson specializes in holistic, collaborative care for complex gynecologic conditions. As a certified minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, she is dedicated to working with patients to achieve their health goals and providing surgical intervention only when necessary. At our practice, Dr. Christianson provides expert treatment for endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and abnormal uterine bleeding, and more. She lives in Lamorinda with her husband and two sons, and enjoys hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors with her family.

We use a da Vinci ® Robotic Platform for these surgical services. This allows our patients to undergo complex surgery with only 4-5 tiny abdominal incisions (rather than a larger incision, ex. c-section). Patients can go home the same day, return to work faster, use minimal pain medication during recovery, and resume daily activities within 1-2 weeks.
