Lamorinda Gynecology and Surgery is a private, physician-led medical practice with a patient-centered, holistic approach to health. Under the care of physicians Dr. Cheruba Prabakar and Dr. Lee Christianson, we offer a range of gynecological services including:
Diagnosis and treatment for fibroids, ovarian cysts, infertility, heavy or irregular bleeding, vaginal infection, pelvic pain, prolapse, endometriosis, and more
Menopause care and bioidentical hormone therapy
Fertility care through the management of polyps, fibroids, and endometriosis to reach your family planning goals (*We do not provide pregnancy care or deliver babies)
Advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, including myomectomy (Fibroid removal), hysterectomy (uterus removal), resection of endometriosis, and ovarian cystectomies
Annual exams and pap smears
We are an out-of-service healthcare provider and do not accept insurance, although most of our patients are eligible for reimbursements through their healthcare plans (see our FAQ). Come in for a single appointment or consultation to target a specific issue, or enjoy year-round medical care through our all-inclusive member services.

Instead of waiting months for an appointment at a high-volume hospital that sees thousands of patients a week, you can see us for same-day or same-week appointments, getting the care and information you need right away before a problem can get worse.

With appointments up to an hour long, we take things at your pace and discuss ongoing health concerns, test results, medications, and preventative care in detail. No more leaving the doctor’s office feeling rushed and confused.
3. See the same physician regularly for personal, continuous care.
At large-volume hospitals, it can feel like you’re starting from scratch every time you have an appointment: re-explaining the same symptoms and health history to doctors see hundreds of patients, or being exhaustingly shuttled from specialist to specialist. We’re here to build a personal relationship with each of our patients. Because our practice sees a smaller number of patients, we’re able to truly get to know you and your health. You can receive all your gynecological care—including surgical care, hormone therapy, and lifestyle medicine, and preventative care—under the direction of one physician.
